Introduction high performance ball valves B11 and B13

We are pleased to announce the introduction of the B11 and B13 high performance ball valves from our sister company Indoil to our product range. The B11 and B13 ball valves are designed for demanding operating conditions, including high pressure and high temperature applications. They are used in industries such as oil and gas, chemical, power generation and petrochemical.The ball valves feature a two-piece body, full bore and top flange for actuator mounting. They have approvals including PED 2014/68/EU, ATEX, ISO 15848 Low Fugitive Emissions, SIL 3 and Bureau Veritas approval.
Together with our sister company Indoil, we strive to continuously expand our product portfolio for heavy-duty applications and to provide you with valve solutions for the most demanding applications that guarantee safe processes in environments with high temperatures and high pressures.

New damper valve for process gas or hot air
08.07.2024Our new Saturnia damper valve has been specifically developed for shut-off and flow control of process gas or hot air. Available in sizes ranging from DN 50 to DN 600, it is designed to operate within a temperature range of -29 °C to +550 °C and withstand pressures up to 0.5 bar.
The body and disc material options include carbon steel, boiler steel, and stainless steel. Additionally, Saturnia offers interchangeable shaft seals, low torque operation, and full compatibility with InterApp gearboxes and pneumatic actuators.Applications for the Saturnia span various industries, including power plant, chemical, pulp and paper, oil and gas, marine, air separation, and the steel industry.

Corrosion-resistant valves for Indonesia‘s metal refining industry
18.03.2024DrM, Dr. Mueller AG, renowned for advanced filtration systems, successfully completed a challenging metal refining project in Indonesia. Faced with a plant in corrosive environment near the sea, the company partnered with InterApp.
As part of the partnership, special valves were installed, including Bianca butterfly valves DN 150 with stainless steel body and disc as well as PFA-lined ball valves TLBVA DN 40 - DN 100, all designed for use in harsh conditions and coated in accordance with the strict standards of corrosion class C5M.
All valves are operated with IA Motion pneumatic actuators.The project also included PFA-lined check valves WPCV, limit switch boxes ES2.PE and proximity switches.

Maximum performance and longevity thanks to the right body coating
16.08.2023Body coatings are important for butterfly valves because they contribute to the durability and performance of the valve. They serve several purposes:
- Protection against corrosion- Improve wear resistance
- Weather resistance
- Aesthetics
For InterApp butterfly valves Bianca, Desponia and Desponia plus, an epoxy or epoxy/polyurethane coating with a thickness of 80 to 330 mm is mainly used. Depending on the coating material and thickness, different corrosion classes such as C2, C4, C5I and C5M can be achieved. Butterfly valves with a body coating of epoxy/polyurethane and a coating thickness of 330 mm, for example, are suitable for industrial areas with high humidity and aggressive atmospheres and can achieve a service life of over 15 years.
To ensure the highest quality standards, we at InterApp subject our coatings to thorough quality control. This includes adhesion and peel tests to ensure that the coatings are applied under optimal conditions.

Desponia® and Desponia® plus, from DN 50 to DN 250 and an operating pressure of up to 5 bar, have fulfilled the strict requirements of EN 161 and received DVGW approval according to EN 161 Class A, valve group 2, safety class B. In addition, they meet one of the most important standards for fugitive emissions, ISO 15848-1 (former TA-Luft/VDI 2440), and can be supplied in ATEX design.

InterApp Spain expands its solar plant
01.06.2023We are pleased to announce another step towards sustainable energy production and the installation of 180 solar modules at our machine factory at Paracuellos del Jarama, Spain.
With the new plant, our site in Madrid, including the production of elastomer-lined butterfly valves, will generate a total power of 190 kW, covering more than 60 % of the required energy with solar energy. In addition, the solar plants contribute to the general energy grid during periods of overproduction or at weekends.With these installations, we are proud to actively support the general efforts to promote clean energy sources and to make a further contribution to a sustainable future.

Use of InterApp butterfly valves in the exploration of Hyperloop technology
02.02.2023In Switzerland, the EuroTube Foundation is researching on Hyperloop-technology, a new vacuum transport technology that combines the speed of an aeroplane with the ecological footprint of a train. The hyperloop shall reach speeds of up to 1000 km/h, connect city centres directly and use 100% purely electric green energy.
As part of the project, our InterApp Bianca butterfly valves are installed in the vacuum system and currently tested for vacuum suitability. We will follow the development with excitement and are proud to be involved in this fascinating project.

New test bench for Desponia butterfly valves with dimensions up to DN 2200
20.01.2023In addition to its capacity for larger valves, the advantages of the test bench include the creation of a descriptive quality test report, several test options and the possibility of carrying out remote tests. Thanks to the integrated video camera equipment, the first factory acceptance test for a project in Abu Dhabi with DN 1600 valves and 16 bar operating pressure could already be successfully accepted from the distance.
The new test bench is an important milestone for our competence centre of desalination, which offers customers around the world a comprehensive service - from project support to plant-specific valve configurations.

Creating new water sources through desalination is therefore a natural and viable alternative. Currently, there are more than 17,000 desalination plants worldwide, producing more than 107 million m3 of freshwater every day, benefiting more than 300 million people.
InterApp butterfly valves are used in seawater desalination plants all over the world and are convincing in a wide range of processes.

New 3D measuring machine (CMM) for the dimensional inspection of our valves
21.11.2022With an accuracy of 0.05 mm, it allows an easy capture of measurements and their use for the verification of the parts manufactured both in our factories and for the inspection of components delivered by our suppliers.
The new equipment is the most suitable tool to increase efficiency in quality processes, since it allows to identify deviations from nominal 3D CAD data during the inspection of the prototype.

07.03.2022Solar energy from the roof of our production facility in Madrid
In June 2019, our Spanish sales and production organization InterApp Valcom moved into a new production facility in San Agustín del Guadalix near Madrid. Even then, it was clear that the spacious flat roof would one day be equipped with a photovoltaic system to support the production of our elastomer-lined butterfly valves with green energy.Since February, solar energy has been flowing from the roof. 276 PV modules on an area of 652 m2 and with an output of 450 Wp each enable us to cover 45% of our electricity demand with renewable energies, thus making a further contribution to the protection of the environment.

18.11.2021Desponia® and Desponia® discs with Ultralene Coating™ offer excellent wear resistance, chemical resistance and anti-adhesion properties for highly demanding environments.
Ultralene Coating™ is a technical plastic with the highest impact strength of any thermoplastic. The material is highly resistant to corrosive chemicals and it has extremely low moisture absorption, resulting in a very low friction coefficient.Therefore, Ultralene Coating™ overmoulded discs are ideal for use in:
- handling of slurries
- the pneumatic conveying of cement and powder
- the mining industry in general
- flue gas cleaning systems
- desalination processes.
While the initial investment is higher, the long-term financial benefits of Desponia® and Desponia® plus butterfly valves with Ultralene Coating™ overmoulded discs are substantial thanks to lower maintenance cost, less downtime and longer life cycle.
Desponia® and Desponia® plus butterfly valves with Ultralene Coating™ overmoulded discs are typically combined with Flucast® liners. The butterfly valves are available from DN 80-300 for a working pressure up to 10 bar and from DN 800-1400 for a working pressure up to 6 bar.

PEKK (Polyetherketoneketone) is a linear, aromatic,semi-crystalline thermoplastic, widely regarded as one of the highest performing thermoplastic materials in the world. Applied to the disc surface of Desponia® and Desponia® plus, it offers a cost-saving and long-term reliable solution for specific industrial applications, where high corrosion, abrasion and heat resistance are required.Thanks to its outstanding properties, PEKK coated discs are ideal for use in:
- discharge of filtered solids and slurries in chemical processes
- slurry handling processes in the mining industry
- flue gas desulphurization units in power generation plants

Extended Bianca range for an operating pressure of 10 bar
23.09.2021With the type examination according to the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU (PED) of the Bianca butterfly valves DN 350 to DN 600, InterApp is expanding its range of PTFE-lined butterfly valves for an operating pressure of 10 bar.
Bianca butterfly valves with disc materials 1.4462 and 1.4542 PFA-lined are thus now available from DN 350 to DN 600 for an operating pressure of 10 bar.

OMV-INDOIL joins the AVK Group
09.03.2021The Croatian-based company produces mainly high-performance ball and butterfly valves for the industrial segments including the energy sector. As a new member of the AVK group, OMV completes InterApp’s range of high-performance valves.
As of 1 January 2021, the AVK Group has acquired majority shareholding in OMV-INDOIL. The Croatian-based valve company with headquarter in Zagreb is well-known for its high-performance valves and has got a strong brand name in the region. The company was founded 30 years ago by Mr. Tomislav Matkovic, who will continue in the business as a minority shareholder and as a key stakeholder in the development of the company in the new partnership with the AVK Group.
The family-owned company has got two manufacturing sites, located in Zagreb, Croatia and in Capljina, Bosnia & Herzegovina, where high-performance ball and butterfly vales in various materials are produced. In addition, the company offers a range of special valves and project capabilities to local contractors.
With the new partnership, InterApp and OMV-INDOIL will start to create a product portfolio of double offset valves and ball valves, of which customers in demanding industries, such as oil and gas, power generation, processing, marine, water treatment and offshore can benefit from.
We welcome the team of OMV-INDOIL to the group and are looking forward to a successful partnership.

New EPDM liner for extreme temperatures for Desponia® range
14.12.2020With an improved both compression set and mechanical properties, the new EPDM liner for extreme temperatures is designed for working conditions up to 16 bar and available for the full range of Desponia® and Desponia® plus in all the sizes (DN 25-1600). In combination with stainless steel discs, the most suitable configuration for low pressure steam applications up to 150 °C is created.
InterApp receives Lloyd’s Register’s Marine Type Approval for Desponia® and Desponia® plus butterfly valves
27.10.2020Prior to certification, Lloyd’s Register inspected InterApp’s manufacturing site and reviewed the product designs to validate compliance with industry codes and standards. In addition, product performance tests have been reviewed to confirm the functional performance of the InterApp designs in production.
With this new type approval certificate InterApp continues to extend its product range for marine applications.

17.08.2020High requirements for high purity applications
The reduction of all types of contamination is the most important goal in the production of contamination-sensitive products, such as in the semiconductor or pharmaceutical industry. To guarantee a fault-free production process and exclude critical residues, all products used in the manufacturing process must show a high degree of purity.For the analysis of our Bianca butterfly valve, the trace analysis department of Exyte Technology GmbH, specialist for clean room technologies and controlled environments, was entrusted with the particle and TOC test according to SEMI F40 and F57.
Particle test
The Bianca butterfly valve in high purity execution was tested on particle residues with the ultra-modern particle measuring device Ultra DI 50, which is ideal for trace analysis.According to SEMI F40 and F57 a maximum limit value of 0.10 particles/ml is allowed. The Bianca butterfly valves achieved a test value of 0.01 particles/ml, which is far below the permitted value.
TOC test
Within the scope of the TOC test (Total Organic Carbon Test) the sum of all organic carbon in the ultrapure water was analysed.According to the SEMI F40 and F57 standards, the test defines a limit value of < 1 ppb. The Bianca butterfly valves also fell below this value with a test value of 0.7 ppb.

Both the particle test and TOC test performed by Exyte Technology GmbH confirm that the Bianca butterfly valves in high purity execution have a high degree of purity and are perfectly suited for use in the production of contamination-sensitive products.

Shut-off butterfly valves, a complete solution for gas applications
02.06.2020In order to offer a complete solution for industrial gas burners and gas applications with a working pressure up to 5 bar, Desponia® and Desponia® plus (DN 50-250) have proven their reliability by passing the stringent requirements of EN 161 and obtained the approval by the DVGW. This certification guarantees that the valve closes in less than one second, so that dangerous operating conditions are avoided, and the system is protected.

New Flucast® FX liner
04.02.2020This new liner has an excellent resistance to acids and concentrated bases even at high temperatures, a good behavior with water steam (up to 160 °C) and an excellent resistance to abrasion at high temperatures (> 130°C).
It is a perfect addition for the Flucast® family of abrasion resistant liners.
